A customer research firm called the Marchex Institute analyzed how often people in all 50 states cursed in recorded phone calls to businesses over the past year.

People in Ohio were MOST LIKELY to swear.  They're followed by Maryland, New Jersey, Louisiana, and Illinois.

People in Washington state were LEAST likely to swear.  They finished just below Massachusetts, Arizona, Texas, and Virginia.

The study also found two out of every three curse words come from men . . . and people are twice as likely to swear in the morning as they are in the afternoon or evening.

However, Wisconsin DID top the list of least courteous states!  The Top 5 “Least Courteous” states were: Wisconsin (1st place), Massachusetts (2nd place), Indiana (3rd place), Tennessee (4th place), and Ohio (5th place).

Apparently, we have a harder time saying “please” and “thank you,” which were keywords that Marchex’s Call Mining technology scanned for when aggregating data on pleasantries.

As many of you know, my Uncle Russell is battling ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). He and my Aunt Katie and their two girls, Margot and Kathryn live in Charlotte, NC. Well, I have been walking on air for days now because Russell recently got some amazing news from former New Orleans Saints player Steve Gleason! Steve is also battling ALS, and he and his wife, Michel, have created a foundation, TEAM GLEASON, to help patients like him. One of the incredible things they do is help ALS patients fulfill dreams that, because of their circumstances, might not otherwise be possible. Over the weekend, a female passenger aboard an American Airlines flight from LAX in Los Angeles to JFK in New York, apparently decided it was time to pay her respects to the late Whitney Houston...RIP, Whitney!

The woman started belting out Whitney Houston songs.  The flight attendants repeatedly asked her to stop but she kept singing, so she was forcably removed from the plane.

Despite the warnings of "no photos are allowed to be taken on the aircraft," one passenger took this video... 

People always say one human year is equal to seven dog years ... but researchers at the University of Georgia have come up with a more accurate way to calculate it.  It's a little confusing, but basically for the first two years of their life, small dogs age faster than medium-sized or big dogs, then big dogs age faster.

Based on the NEW METHOD, our dog Toby is almost 27 years old ... not 21 like we thought!  Ok, but that still doesn't explain why he's got the energy of a rambunctious 4-year-old kid who just washed down his entire Easter basket of candy with a can of Mountain Dew! Oy vey! ~Meg

The Social Security Administration released their list of the top baby names in the nation for 2012.

Sophia and Jacob were the most popular names in 2012 . . . just like they were in 2011.  And Jacob has been the number one name for boys since 1999 . . . that's FOURTEEN YEARS.

For boys, the top 10 names are Jacob, Mason, Ethan, Noah, William, Liam, Jayden, Michael, Alexander, and Aiden.

For girls, the top 10 names are Sophia, Emma, Isabella, Olivia, Ava, Emily, Abigail, Mia, Madison, and Elizabeth.

The more INTERESTING names are the ones that haven't cracked the top 10, but made HUGE jumps between 2011 and 2012.  The fastest rising name for boys is . . . Major.  The SSA thinks it's from people wanting to pay tribute to the military.  Some of the other big jumps in names for boys are Gael, Jase, Messiah, Brantley, King, Ari, and Maverick. 

The fastest rising name for girls is Arya . . . the name of Ned Stark's youngest daughter on "Game of Thrones", if you're a fan.  Some of the other big jumps in names for girls are Perla, Catalina, Elisa, Raelyn, Haven, and Marilyn.

Good thing grasshoppers don't eat beetles because a ton of them invaded PAUL MCCARTNEY'S concert in Brazil Tuesday night!  He talked about the little buggers a couple of times and even named one of them "Harold!"

Some new dash cam video from REESE WITHERSPOON'S arrest in Atlanta has hit the web. In it, you can hear Reese argue with the cop and hear an argument between her and her husband Jim Toth.
