And the Oscar goes to ... Philly Cheesesteak Crescent Rollups! I had to come up with a movie-inspired dish to pass for an Oscar's party I went to Sunday night, and since my FAVORITE movie this year was "Silver Linings Playbook" (and I love football!), it seemed only natural to bring something Philly-inspired that would make Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper swoon. So, my Oscar-worthy sou chef and I whipped up these super easy "Philly Cheesesteak Crescent Rollups" And they were a huge hit! Try 'em yourself and let me know what you think! ~Meg
Philly Cheesesteak Crescent Rollups
2 packages of Crescent Rolls
1lb Deli Roast Beef
Swiss or Provolone Cheese
Horseradish Sauce (optional)
Unroll the crescent rolls. Spread a small dab of Horseradish on each (optional). Then place one slice of roast beef and a piece of cheese on each. Roll up and bake according to Crescent Roll package directions. Serve warm.
Optional: whip up this quick and easy Au Jus dip for a tasty "french" twist.
3 cups water
4 cubes beef bouillon
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
salt and pepper
Place the water in a medium sauce pan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; whisk in the beef bouillon. Whisk in the soy sauce, garlic powder and salt and pepper to taste.
