Malted Milk Cookies
2 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup (2 sticks butter,softened
1/3 cup sour cream
2 tsp vanilla
4 3/4 cups flour
3/4 cup malted milk powder
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp each:baking powder, salt
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
5 Tbsp Milk
3 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
1/3 cup malted milk powder
1/2 tsp vanilla
Heat oven to 375 degrees. for cookies, combine the brown sugar, softened butter, sour cream, eggs and vanilla in large bowl of electric mixer, beat until creamy. slowly add the flour ,malted milk powder,baking powder,soda and salt blending well.
2. Roll one -third of the dough at a time 1/4 inch thick between sheets of lightly floured wax paper. Cut into about 2 1/2 inch rounds. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake until set and bottoms are golden, about 10 minutes. Remove from the baking sheets to cool on racks.
3. For frosting, combine the brown sugar, butter and milk in a medium saucepan: cook over low heat until butter has melted and sugar has dissolved. Remove from the heat and stir in the powdered sugar, malted milk powder and vanilla. Spread on the cooled cookies while the frosting is still warm. Enjoy with hot cocoa. sweet memories!
