Butterscotch Pecan Cookies
Ingredients:
4 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter or margarine
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
1 cup chopped pecans
Directions:
Sift together flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt. Cream together butter or margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture. Add pecans and mix well. Shape into rolls and wrap in waxed paper, or press into cookie molds. Chill until very firm. Slice thin and bake on ungreased baking sheets at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
