3 sticks of butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. almond extract
3 cups flour
2 small bags of slivered almonds
1 egg white (for brushing on top)
Preheat oven to 375.
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolk and extract. Add flour and mix. Form into logs. Refrigerate overnight.
Slice about 1/8 inch thick and brush top with egg whites and sprinkle with a few slivered almonds.
