Caramel Brownies

Ingredients:
1 package Kraft caramels (48)
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1 package German chocolate cake mix
3/4 cup butter
1 cup nuts
1 cup chocolate chips

Directions:
Melt down caramels in 1/3 cup evaporated milk and set aside (keeping warm). Mix together cake mix with butter, nuts, and 1/3 cup evap. milk (if too hard to mix, add a little more evap. milk). Place 1/2 dough into greased and floured 9x13 pan, press into corners as evenly as possible. Bake 6 minutes at 375. Remove from oven and add chocolate chips over baked dough. Pour melted caramel mixture evenly over chips, then add the rest of the cake mixture on top. Bake 15-18 minutes. Cool and refrigerate. Cut into squares.
