Debbie Harry of Blondie says she spent the day before 9/11 in New York and has a special memory of the last time she saw the Twin Towers: "I clearly remember driving into New York the day before 9/11... I was approaching the city I came up this little rise and the city was laid out in this panoramic view. I was looking at the whole thing and I saw the World Trade Center. The executors of Michael Jackson's estate, which generated over $310 million in revenue in 2010 from album sales, asked a Los Angeles judge on Sept. 13 to allow them to put $30 million in a trust fund for Jackson's mother and his three children, who are the designated beneficiaries. They also requested permission from the Judge Mitchell Beckloff, who is overseeing matters related to Jackson's estate, to sell the longtime Jackson family compound Hayvenhurst in the L.A. suburb of Encino, Calif. Jackson's mother Katherine Jackson wants to sell Hayvenhurst, which has been appraised at $4.15 million but recently undergone extensive renovation, and have the executors negotiate a new residence for her and the children, Paris, Prince and Michael Joseph Jr., known as Blanket. Earlier in 2011, executors used $159 million to pay down the $400 million total debt when the "Thriller" singer died in 2009. A court hearing in the case is set for Sept. 28. Meanwhile, Oscar-winning actor/comedian Jamie Foxx (Ray) has just been named to host the "Michael Forever" tribute concert that is planned for Oct. 8 in Wales, UK. In more MJ news, Michael's brother Jermaine Jackson has revealed that he secretly arranged to fly his famous sibling out of the U.S. to Bahrain if Michael was found guilty of child molestation charges during a 2005 court case because he feared his brother "wouldn't survive" jail. In his new book, You Are Not Alone: Michael Through a Brother's Eyes, Jermaine says he even lined up a private jet to fly a convicted Michael to the Middle Eastern country "to start a new life away from the scam of American justice."  Oscar-winning actor Cliff Robertson, known for such roles as his portrayal of Pres. John F. Kennedy in the 1963 World War II drama PT-109, a corrupt government official in the 1975 Robert Redford thriller Three Days of the Condor, and Playboy founder Hugh Hefner in the Dorothy Stratten biopic Star 80, died of natural causes on Sept. 10 at Stony Brook University Medical Center on Long Island. He was 88. Mr. Robertson nabbed an Oscar for his portrayal of a mentally disable baker in the movie Charly and his 50+-year career also includes roles in My Six Loves, Sunday in New York, The Devil's Brigade and Obsession. More recently, he played Uncle Ben Parker in the Spider-Man films and also worked regularly in television, including delivering an Emmy Award-winning performance in The Game, 1965 drama on Bob Hope Presents the Chrysler Theatre. In the late 1970s, Mr. Robertson was a whistle-blower in the real-life check-forging scandal of then-Columbia Pictures president David Begelman and was once a paid spokesman for the AT&T phone company. - Los Angeles Times

Former Saturday Night Live star Dan Aykroyd is reportedly pitching to American TV execs a new series based on The Blues Brothers, the characters created by himself and the late John Belushi for SNL in 1978 and led to a successful album, Briefcase Full of Blues, and movie, The Blues Brothers, in 1980. Aykroyd and John Landis attempted to revamp The Blues Brothers to the big screen in 1998 with Blues Brothers 2000, but the film was derided by critics and bombed at the box office. - Variety/NME

Blondie's ninth studio album, Panic of Girls, dropped in the US on Sept. 13 on the group's own imprint and will be sold on CD and digital download exclusively on Amazon.com. Featuring 11 songs in genres ranging from reggae to Latin, the album is Blondie's third since original members Debbie Harry, guitarist Chris Stein, and drummer Clem Burke reunited in 1997 with newer supporting band members and the follow-up to 2003's The Curse of Blondie. The album features 11 songs in genres ranging from reggae to Latin, and Harry sings in French on "Le Bleu" and in Spanish on "Wipe Off My Sweat." "Mother," the lead single, pays homage to a Manhattan club that Harry and the band hung out at during the 1990s. Iconic '60s and '70s TV actress Mary Tyler Moore will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Screen Actors Guild during a ceremony in Los Angeles on Jan. 29.
