The Milwaukee County Zoo invites all to “Feast with the Beasts” at this year’s Milwaukee Journal Sentinel a la Carte, August 15 through August 18. Top national and local bands will perform throughout Zoo grounds and more than 25 restaurants will offer scrumptious food!
The Zoo welcomes these headliners:
Thursday, August 15, at 8 p.m. – JGB featuring Melvin Seals
From blues to funk to jazz to R&B and gospel, JGB featuring Melvin Seals will rock the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s a la Carte on Thursday, August 15, at 8 p.m. Seals is best known for his past powerful performances on Hammond B-3 organ and keyboards in the Jerry Garcia Band.
JGB featuring Melvin Seals features both acoustic and electric music with combinations of guitar, mandolin, slide and lap steel with bass, drums, and of course, Seals on Hammond B-3 organ and keyboards.
Friday, August 16, at 8 p.m. – Ed Kowalczyk, founding member and former lead singer of Live
Ed Kowalczyk, founding member and former lead singer of Live, will perform at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s a la Carte on Friday, August 16, at 8 p.m. Kowalczyk, who launched his solo career in 2009, will perform both his own original music and hits from the music of Live.
Live sold over 20 million albums and produced nine top-ten hit songs including “Lightening Crashes,” “I Alone,” “Selling the Drama,” “The Dolphins Cry” and “Heaven.”
Saturday, August 17, at 8 p.m. – The Family Stone
The Family Stone, featuring Sly and the Family Stone founding members, Jerry Martini, Cynthia Robinson and Greg Errico, will headline at Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s a la Carte, on Saturday, August 17, at 8 p.m. These Rock and Roll inductees best known for their classic hits, “I Want to Take You Higher,” “Everyday People,” “Dance To the Music,” “Hot Fun In The Summertime,” “Family Affair” and “Sing a Simple Song,” will provide the audience with an energizing show.
